On the 5th of February, I attended my last IS lesson before the test. Mr Kent taught us about CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) and I have to say that it was a lot more difficult that HTML! We learnt that CSS adds color, different fonts and different word sizes to HTML.
Mr Kent set us a group task and I soon found that I could not figure out how to connect the HTML and CSS! Thankfully, my friend Jian Shern was there to help and we finished the task in the end.
I truly enjoyed learning HTML and CSS, and I am confident that I will do well in the upcoming test.

On the 29th of January, I attended my third Infocomm Studies lesson taught by Mr Kent. In this lesson, we learnt the basics of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language). I think that HTML is a very useful skill to learn as it can help you code your own webpage without hiring others.
I created my own webpage with the help of my friend Jian Shern. Even though it took me ages to make just half of the webpage, the results were extremely satisfying and it was worth it. I look forward to the next IS lesson, where we will learn more about HTML.

On the 22nd of January, I attended another valuable IS (Infocomm Studies) lesson conducted by Mr Kent. This week, we were discussing 3 important topics 1)the social impact of new technologies, 2)ethical issues on media usage and intellectual property, and 3)differences between a blog and a website. I learned many new facts and also got to know my classmates points of view on the topics as I read the forum. (http://webnewmedia.ning.com/forum) All in all, it was a very educational lesson and I look forward to the next one.

On the 15th of January, I attended a meaningful Infocomm Study lesson taught by Mr Kent. I learnt many interesting and new facts which I had never imagined before.

At the start of the lesson, Mr Kent showed us a video which was chock full of technology related facts. This is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sUa-02PqBc and it is very educational and you should watch it if you have the time.

We also learnt about the history of the internet and why it was created by American scientists. Mr Kent then showed us a short video about Web 2.0, and gave a few examples of websites such as wikipedia and ning which employs this technology.

All in all, it was a very insightful lesson, and I look forward to the next one.
